COMEYTROWE UNDER FIVES PRESCHOOL is an OFSTED regulated community preschool for children aged 2-4 years. We are situated in Galmington, Taunton, Somerset. We accept 2 year old funding and 3 & 4 year old universal funding which entitles you to 15 hours per week. This can be made up of any session times (please see "We Are Open" below for session times). We also accept 3 & 4 year old extended funding which entitles you to 30 hours per week. This is offered as full day sessions (8:30-4pm). To view our prospectus, click here.
WE OFFER a warm and caring place for children to learn, play and grow and aim to ensure that your children's time with us is both fun and educational. We provide a stimulating environment to foster natural curiosity and promote child development, with a range of activities to extend their knowledge and experiences. We aim to allow all children to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding to their full potential, during the time they spend with us.
WE BELIEVE that each child is an individual and that all children should be treated equally, regardless of their needs, gender, race, religion, culture, ethnic background or ability. OUR STAFF include a Manager, Deputy Manager, Business Administrator, 6 Early Years Practitioners, 2 Early Years Apprentices and 1 Support Staff. All of our staff have full enhanced DBS clearance and attend regular Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding training. We are also pleased to offer student work experience placements and Apprenticeships wherever possible.
OUR FACILITIES are based in a large, single-level community hall with kitchen, office/meeting room and accessible toilet facilities. We have a large, all weather, secure outdoor area, accessible to wheelchair users and those with physical disabilities. As well as a large selection of outdoor play equipment, our outdoor area boasts an insect hotel, vegetable garden, mud kitchen and a large playhouse.
OUR ACTIVITIES: We provide a large selection of educational toys, games, books and creative resources and also host weekly scheduled activities aimed at promoting holistic child development. Our Monday morning session is a woodland session called "Muddy Mondays", held in the grounds of Bishop Henderson Primary School (just across the road). On Tuesday mornings, it's "Tuneful Tuesdays"; a sensory music and singing session with Music Bugs. On Wednesday mornings (afternoons from September 2024) we host our "Workout Wednesdays" physical activity sessions with James, our qualified Sports Coach. On Thursday mornings, it's "Tasty Thursdays" when a small group (on a rota) stay in to cook and bake various homemade treats. On Thursday afternoons, it's "Tuneful Thursday"; another sensory music and singing session with Music Bugs, and on Friday mornings we host our "Fitness Friday" physical activity sessions with James, our qualified Sports Coach. All of these activities are at no extra cost to our families.

Early: 0830 – 0900, Morning: 0900 – 1200, Lunch: 1200 – 1300, Afternoon: 1300 – 1600
SEPTEMBER 2024 FEES:
In order to secure a place for your child, a non- refundable registration fee of £50 is required at the time of booking (excluding parents receiving low income 2-year-old funding). Please see our bank details at the bottom of this form for payment of your registration fee. This fee secures the days requested (where available) or a place on our waiting list. We aim to accommodate the sessions requested for your child from the start date specified on their Expression of Interest Registration Form in accordance with spaces available at the time. You will be invited to attend a Stay and Play visit at the preschool with your child, the term before they are due to start with us. Sessions will be confirmed at this time.
PROSPECTIVE PARENTS or carers are welcome to come and look during normal opening times. Call us on 01823 271216 to arrange a visit. To request a place for your child at Comeytrowe Under Fives, simply complete and return an Expression of Interest Registration Form to the address shown below. When places are available, we accept new children all year round.
Comeytrowe Under Fives Preschool is a registered charity and is only able to secure your child’s place once we have received the registration fee of £50.
